Overview

Calamity’s her name, and garou hunting’s her game—when she’s not starring in Wild Bill’s Traveling Show, that is. She reckons that if a girl wants to be a legend, she should just go ahead and be one.

FRANK (*wolf whistle*)
Frank “the Pistol Prince” Butler is the Wild West’s #1 bachelor. He’s also the best sharpshooter on
both sides of the Mississippi, but he’s about to meet his match. . . .

ANNIE (get your gun!)
Annie Oakley (yep, that Annie) is lookin’ for a job, not a romance, but she can’t deny there’s something about Frank she likes. Really likes. Still, she’s pretty sure that anything he can do,
she can do better.

A HAIRY SITUATION
After a garou hunt goes south and Jane finds a suspicious-like bite on her arm, she turns tail for Deadwood, where there’s been talk of a garou cure. But things ain’t always what they seem—meaning the gang better hightail it after her before they’re a day late and a Jane short.

It is not too quickly, but at a pace that keeps the reader engaged waiting to discover the outcome. It has a satisfactory ending which is a little predictable but ties up all the loose ends. Some of the male characters are a little too good to be true but that doesn’t spoil any part of the story. The author switches between the two time periods effortlessly and easily which doesn’t always happen in these kinds of books. Each storyline had a richness that was only strengthened by the comparison and contrast to the other.

  1. Wren (fablesandwren)

The cover was not orange and green, but I’m still really happy with this book! Western, our Lady Janies’ humor, talking dogs, were-umm, garous, and loads of history to be straightened out! Absolutely outstanding!

  2. Lacey

Full disclosure: I don’t like westerns. I don’t watch them, and I don’t read them (which is surprising considering how much I like drinking, poker, and shows/movies with guns).

  3. Fizah(Books tales by me)

I waited for 2 years for this book. From 5 to 3.5 stars, this series is going downhill for me. I don’t know if there’ll be more books in this series. I just want this series to end now.

  4. Eva B.

I didn’t like this one quite as much as My Lady Jane, but it was a big improvement from My Plain Jane. As much as I love Annie Oakley, I’m not too into westerns as a genre, but I did enjoy this!

  6. Brad Sells

A wild ride from start to finish, My Calamity Jane soars with daredevil heroes (and “hero-eenes” for that matter!), buck-wild action that gallops off the page, and a genuine look at romance, friendship, and family set amongst the Wild West.
